Siu Nan fled to Thailand with his parents, was sent back in 2019, and was arrested on March 28, 2022. He was accused of intending to start a Dega group against the government.
Rmah Bit fled to Cambodia in 2015 and put his own name down for return. He came back to house arrest, lost a leg in a military hospital in 2020, and died in March 2022.
Hundreds of police, vans and ambulances were sent to Kon Rơ Wang for a land acquisition that the households there had not accepted. Y-Khuê stood in front of them with empty hands.
He was nineteen when he was sentenced over an argument between boys in his village. Three months later his family was told he was in the hospital. He was not. When they brought his body home and washed it, his chest was crushed and his face was broken.
Before he signed his release papers the police held a party for him, with food and bottles of soda. His family says the soda was poisoned. He went home, married, had three children, and began to fail in 2019.
